1996 Alex Rodriguez Grand Slam Game Used & Signed Bat, PSA/DNA GU 9 with Batting Gloves.

UPDATE: After our catalog went to print, we were contacted by a collector providing proof that he owns the first Alex Rodriguez grand slam bat, notated as such in Rodriguez' own hand. As the second had already been photographically eliminated, please be aware that the offered bat can now be definitively attributed to A-Rod's third grand slam.

The good fortune of the Major League grand slam record was stripped from the Luckiest Man on the Face of the Earth by the original owner of this bat, who ended his illustrious career with twenty-five bases-loaded long balls, two better than the towering lifetime tally of Lou Gehrig. The presented signature model Louisville Slugger C271 is responsible for either the first or the third of that enormous A-Rod sum, the experts at Resolution Photomatching eliminating the second of that spectacular 1996 rookie campaign, but unable to locate photography clear enough to discern between the other two.

The jet-black lumber exhibits excellent game use with ball marks, stitch impressions, cleat marks and a weighted donut impression. Rodriguez' rookie-style signature appears in silver on the barrel above his handwritten "Grand Slam 1996" notation. Length is just short of thirty-four inches (33.875"), weight thirty-two and a half ounces (32.6 oz.). Handle remains uncracked.

Also on offer is a pair of well-worn batting gloves (not attributed to any particular game), each signed in blue sharpie at the wrist. Both the bat and the pair of gloves are accompanied by a signed certificate of authenticity from Rodriguez. LOA from PSA/DNA, GU 9. Three Full LOAs from PSA/DNA for Autographs on Items. Full LOA from SGC Authentic for Autographs on Items. Alex Rodriguez signed Letter of Provenance for both items. Pre-Certified by PSA/DNA for Letter of Provenance. Auction LOA from SGC Authentic for Letter of Provenance.
