1986-89 Don Mattingly Game Used & Signed Bat, PSA/DNA GU 10. Signature model Louisville Slugger T141 looks like Rocky Balboa at the end of the movie, and with good reason. This absolutely picture-perfect example from Donnie Baseball found the Yankee superstar at the pinnacle of his powers, dethroning Bronx legends from their long reigns atop franchise leaderboards. In 1986, Mattingly topped the American League in hits (238) and doubles (53), displacing Earle Combs and Lou Gehrig respectively as franchise leaders. He retains those records to this day. In 1987, he'd launch six grand slams and homer in eight consecutive games, likewise surviving Major League records.

The experts at PSA/DNA properly characterize game use here as "outstanding," noting ball marks, stitch impressions, cleat marks, rack streaks and a heavy coating of pine tar on the miraculously uncracked handle. Length is thirty-four inches (34"), weight thirty-one and a half ounces (31.5 oz.). For some unknown reason, Mattingly reversed his jersey numbers on knob and barrel end, writing "32," digits last worn by Elston Howard, who passed away in 1980, two years before Mattingly's rookie season. A 9/10 black sharpie signature on the barrel is the icing on the best Mattingly bat in the hobby. LOA from PSA/DNA, GU 10. COA from PSA/DNA (autograph).
