    Description

1984 Tony Gwynn All-Star Game Used Bat, PSA/DNA GU 8.5. During his illustrious career, Tony Gwynn received an All-Star nod fifteen times. With an unbridled love for the game, Gwynn was an almost annual participant in the Mid-Summer Classic. But you never forget your first moment in the sun. From the first time Gwynn could call himself an "All-Star" is this Adirondack bat - 32.38" and 30.8 ounces. PSA/DNA Bats bestowed a grade of GU 8.5 on the stick which is linked to Gwynn's first All-Star contest. According to John Taube's research, blue and black ball marks appear on the back barrel. The baseballs used for the '84 All-Star Game were imprinted with blue ink. Originally, this bat was sold at the Padres gift shop. The uncracked bat was used in the All-Star Game and subsequently in the second half as well. A number of ball marks and light checking appear on the back barrel from repeated contact, orange bat rack streaks are on the handle and a healthy coating of pine tar give the stick added personality. "19" (underlined) appears on the cupped end while "279H TG" is punched into the knob. Overall, a historic relic from San Diego's favorite son. LOA from PSA/DNA, GU 8.5.
