1983 Johnny Bench Game Used Bat, PSA/DNA GU 9. Even at the age of 35, Johnny Bench proved he still belonged near the top of the Reds' lineup. Bench hit .255 and drove home a respectable 55 runs in 110 games in 1983 - his final campaign in the bigs. This Louisville Slugger model S216 bat (35" and 31.3 ounces) served Bench during his final stanza. A handle crack spelled the end of the line. Several ball marks, stitch impressions and light checking appear on the left and back barrel. "5" is written on the knob, and the end is cupped. Moderate pine tar is still visible on the handle. Bench sealed the deal with a 10/10 silver paint pen signature and "82 Gamer" inscription. The experts at PSA/DNA have bestowed a grade of GU 9 on the historic relic. LOA from PSA/DNA, GU 9. Full LOA from PSA/DNA (autograph). Full LOA from James Spence Authentication (autograph).
