1983 Don Mattingly Game Used Rookie Bat, PSA/DNA GU 6.5. Only the most fervent Yankees fans will recall that Donnie Baseball wore number "46" during his rookie campaign before dividing that number in half for the balance of his Monument Park-worthy Bronx service. And we find that larger number on the knob of the presented Louisville Slugger signature model M110, exhibiting light use and repaired checking on back barrel. Several ball marks and stitch impressions are apparent, as are blue bat rack streaks. PSA/DNA bat expert John Taube notes that the back barrel was taped at one point, either to secure the checking during repair, or for batting practice action. Length of thirty-four inches and weight of thirty-two ounces match factory records. An exceedingly rare rookie-era bat from the last Yankee to date to see his digits retired. LOA from PSA/DNA, GU 6.5.
