    Description

1977 Eddie Murray Game Used Rookie Bat. One of the finest and most important Murray bats available in the collecting hobby, this is one of a tiny handful supported by rock-solid provenance that can be definitively pegged to the superstar slugger's Rookie of the Year season. The provenance comes in the form of a letter from Baltimore Orioles assistant clubhouse manager Mike Zolotorow on team letterhead attesting to the vintage, with a period pay stub of Zolotorow thrown in for good measure.

Our experts concur that the bat's labeling period is correct for the era, and Murray's preferred taping job from his rookie era is present at the pine-tarred handle. The signature model Hillerich & Bradsby W248 exhibits outstanding use, with ball and stitch marks visible on the left and back barrel, along with blue and black bat rack streaks. Thirty-five inch length and thirty-three and a half ounce weight are correct for rookie Murray models. Number "33" appears in vintage marker at the knob end. The team provenance, correlation to ordering records and magnificent use equates to a perfect 10 rating by bat experts John Taube and Dave Bushing. Whether you collect 500 Home Run Club, 3,000 Hit Club or simply Hall of Famers, this is the Murray bat to buy. LOA from PSA/DNA. LOA from SCD Authentic.

Another major house refused the work stating it was too unique for the artist. Heritage saw that as an advantage!
