Description

1977-79 Willie Stargell Game Used Bat. Pops remains one of the most beloved superstars ever to wear the bumblebee cap, a genuine icon to the baseball fans of Pittsburgh. Presented is a signature model Hillerich & Bradsby P89 from a period of great productivity in the later years of Stargell's career that saw him earn a National League MVP Award and a World Championship in 1979. Odds are good that this lumber dates from that very season, and the bat certainly shows a fine helping of use, with deeply imbedded stitch marks criss-crossing the dark wood barrel. A strong example of a bat that should be on any serious collector's wish list. Thirty-five inches in length, at a weight of thirty-four ounces. MEARS A6.
