1977-79 Wade Boggs Signed Game Used Bat, PSA/DNA GU 8.
Wade Boggs forged a Hall of Fame career by placing the baseball just over the head of the infield. The ever-superstitious Boggs was the American League's version of Tony Gwynn in the 1980's. This may be one of the more unique Boggs gamers in existence. The offered Louisville Slugger model P89 bat (34.75" and 32.3 ounces) has a labeling period of 1977-79 and is a non-recorded order according to John Taube's records. The bat did receive a grade of GU 8 from the bat expert because of the great use exhibited. The right barrel has numerous ball marks. Green bat rack marks and heavy pine tar buildup add further aesthetics. There is a slight handle crack. "WB" is written in vintage black marker on the knob. Boggs provides his personal seal with an autograph (8/10) on the barrel. Cupped end. LOA from PSA/DNA, GU 8. Full LOA from PSA/DNA (autograph). Auction LOA from SGC Authentic.
