1977-79 Rod Carew Game Used Bat, PSA/DNA GU 8. One of the greatest devotees of Wee Willie Keeler's "hit 'em where they ain't" philosophy, Carew earned his entrance into the 3,000 Hit Club by doing just that. Ken Holtzman once said of Carew, "He has an uncanny ability to move the ball around as if the bat were some kind of magic wand." Here we present one of those magic wands for your collecting pleasure, a signature model Hillerich & Bradsby C243 exhibiting heavy use from Carew's most productive seasons.

Many ball marks, stitch impressions and cleat marks are visible on both sides of the barrel, as are red, green and blue bat rack streaks. Moderate pine tar on uncracked handle, and a vintage markered number "29" on knob. Length of thirty-four and a half inches (34.5") and weight of thirty-two ounces (31.8 oz.) are correct for Carew's ordering records. LOA from PSA/DNA, GU 8.
