1976 Willie McCovey Game Used Bat. Long a collecting favorite for its attractive design and single-season style that allows definitive dating, the "Bicentennial bat" is actively chased by many a hobbyist regardless of player orientation. So it should go without saying that particular appeal is assigned to the presented specimen once owned and operated by one of the game's great power sluggers. The block-lettered Hillerich & Bradsby R195 exhibits light to moderate use from a season that saw McCovey edge ever closer to the fabled 500 home run plateau, his playing time divided between the San Diego Padres and the Oakland A's, his only foray into the Junior Circuit. The length of thirty-five inches and weight of thirty-two ounces perfectly match factory records, and a 10/10 black sharpie signature on the barrel is a nice touch. A solid gamer from one of the most exciting hitters of his age, graded 7.5 by both PSA/DNA and MEARS. LOA from PSA/DNA. LOA from MEARS. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication (autograph).
