1973-74 Jim Northrup Detroit Tigers Game Used Bat.
Nicknamed the "Silver Fox" due to his prematurely graying hair, Jim Northrup played a dozen MLB seasons with the Tigers, Expos, and Orioles. He is best known for his contributions to the World Series Champion 1968 Detroit Tigers, whom he led in hits and RBIs, along with hitting five grand slams throughout the season, and the game winning triple off Bob Gibson in Game 7 of the series.

Offered is a Louisville Slugger Genuine Jim Northrup S2L model bat, measuring 35", the cracked lumber shows excellent game usage with heavy tarring on the handle that has been partially obscured by a tape job. Knob features a number "5" in red marker. Presence of the "®" above the 'D' in "POWERIZED" branding dates the bat from 1973 to 1975, and the number on the knob narrows that window to 1973 and 1974. Letter of Provenance from Kansas City Royals Batboy.
