    Description

1972 Willie Mays Game Used Bat, PSA/DNA GU 10. Willie Mays was a player without a weakness. He was a five-tool player before anyone knew what a five-tool player actually meant. Any list of the greatest complete player in baseball history had better have Willie Mays near the top. In 1972, Mays split time between the Giants and Mets. He essentially went home to where his career had begun. This Louisville Slugger model W215 bat (35" and 33 ounces) has a labeling period of 1972 according to John Taube's research. The uncracked stick has also received the top grade of GU 10 by the bat expert. An abundance of ball marks and stitch impressions pepper the right, left and back barrel from repeated contact. Green and red bat rack streaks run from the trademark to the barrel engravings. "24" is written on the knob in vintage black marker. Overall, one of the finest Mays gamers to surface. This originates from the collection of Washington Senators equipment manager Fred Baxter. LOA from PSA/DNA, GU 10. Letter of provenance from the family of Washington Senators equipment manger Fred Baxter.
