Description

1972-76 Rico Petrocelli Professional Model Bat Game Used By Dwight Evans, PSA/DNA GU 8. Rico Petrocelli and Dwight Evans are connected through their long tenures with the Boston Red Sox and represent two generations of excellence in the franchise's infield and outfield, respectively. Petrocelli, primarily a shortstop and third baseman, played from 1963 to 1976, known for his power and defense, including a 40-home run season in 1969. Evans, who debuted in 1972 and played through 1990, was a standout right fielder with a powerful arm, keen eye at the plate, and multiple Gold Gloves. Their careers overlapped from 1972 to 1976, during which Evans was emerging as a promising young star while Petrocelli was transitioning toward the end of his career. Both were fan favorites and key figures during a competitive era for the Red Sox, contributing to the team's strong performance in the 1970s. Together, they reflect the continuity and quality of Boston's player development and defensive strength during that time.

Offered is a 35-inch, 34.4-ounce Adirondack 227A Rico Petrocelli player model bat used by Dwight Evans in the early to mid-1970s. Evidence of excellent use with a handle crack, ball marks, and tar remnants. Evans' player number is written on the knob. Graded PSA/DNA GU 8. LOA from PSA/DNA, 1B37706.
