1972-76 Rico Petrocelli Professional Model Bat Game Used By Dwight Evans, PSA/DNA GU 8. Rico Petrocelli and Dwight Evans are connected through their long tenures with the Boston Red Sox and represent two generations of excellence in the franchise's infield and outfield, respectively. Petrocelli, primarily a shortstop and third baseman, played from 1963 to 1976, known for his power and defense, including a 40-home run season in 1969. Evans, who debuted in 1972 and played through 1990, was a standout right fielder with a powerful arm, keen eye at the plate, and multiple Gold Gloves. Their careers overlapped from 1972 to 1976, during which Evans was emerging as a promising young star while Petrocelli was transitioning toward the end of his career.
