1971-79 Willie McCovey Game Used & Signed Bat, PSA/DNA GU 8.5. Bob Gibson called him "the scariest hitter in baseball," an opinion held by many of the pitchers who were victimized for McCovey's 521 career home runs. It's likely that a few of those long balls were launched from the barrel of the provided Adirondack Big Stick 155A, which exhibits excellent game use inclusive of ball marks, stitch impressions, cleat divots and light pine tar on the cracked and repaired handle. Number "44" appears in vintage marker on knob, while 9/10 blue sharpie signature on barrel is a more recent addition. Length is just short of thirty-five inches (34.75"), weight just under thirty-three ounces (32.8 oz.). LOA from PSA/DNA, GU 8.5. Full LOA from PSA/DNA (autograph). Auction LOA from SGC Authentic (autograph).
