1971-74 Joe Torre Game Used Bat, PSA/DNA GU 8.5. Many who remember Joe Torre as the manager who led the New York Yankees to four World Series titles may not realize that, before his days as a skipper, he was a nine-time All-Star as a player during the 1960's and 1970's, winning a Gold Glove, batting crown and the 1971 National League MVP Award. During his MVP season Joe put up these numbers: ninety-seven runs scored, 230 hits, thirty-four doubles, eight triples, twenty-four home runs, 137 runs batted in, and a .363 batting average.

The bat presented here hails from Torre's MVP era. An Adirondack Big Stick signature model number 129A, it is thirty-five inches (35") long, weighs thirty-five ounces (35 oz.), and displays "9" on the knob in black marker. The handle was cracked but repaired and the bat shows other excellent wear, including hit and transfer marks, and heavy pine tar on the handle. Signed on the barrel in blue sharpie with "MVP '71" inscription. LOA from PSA/DNA GU 8.5. COA from PSA/DNA (autograph).
