1970-72 Johnny Bench Game Used Bat, PSA/DNA GU 7 from The Gary Carter Collection. One Hall of Fame backstop gifted his cherished lumber to another member of Cooperstown when Johnny Bench gave Gary Carter this bat. The model B278 Louisville Slugger bat (35.5" and 32.2 ounces) was used between 1970-72. Uncracked, the bat shows excellent use characteristics with ball marks, cleat marks and even light checking on the back barrel. "B278" is punched into the knob and "5" is markered on both ends. Carter was a collector in the truest sense. We bet he held this in the highest of regards. Letter of provenance from Sandy Carter. LOA from PSA/DNA, GU 7.
