    Description

1969 Mickey Mantle Post-Career Game Used & Signed Bat. The Mick broke millions of hearts when he announced before the 1969 season that he was hanging up his spikes, and surely some of those hearts resided within the Louisville factory where his bats were crafted. Here is one of the very last they ever made for the Mick, possibly shipped in anticipation of his return, or made expressly for his use as a coach and Old Timer. Leading expert John Taube is confident that the light use evident on this signature model Hillerich & Bradsby M110 was inflicted by Mantle himself, as he attests in the included letter of authenticity. Refinishing and restored mounting holes suggest a secondary life in a wall display, and Mantle's flawless blue sharpie signature with coveted "536 HRs" notation furthers the world class aesthetics. Even discounting its term of service in Mantle's retirement, this is one of the finest signed bats we've encountered from the Mick, far more appealing than the "replica" bats which still command thousands at auction. Thirty-five inches long, thirty-three ounces. LOA from PSA/DNA. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA (autograph).
