1968-70 Joe Torre Game Used Bat, PSA/DNA GU 8 from The Greg Stiegler Royals Bat Boy Collection. Decades before he managed the New York Yankees to four World Series championships in five years (1996-2000), Joe Torre was a bonafide Major League All-Star catcher and infielder who tallied nine Mid-Summer Classic berths in addition to a Gold Glove and league MVP award.

The bat on offer here dates from his days as a Brave and Cardinal when he was still at the top of his game. An Adirondack 129A signature model, this specimen measures thirty-five inches (35") in length and weighs 36.5 ounces. Shows fine game use with a cracked and taped handle and a barrel which reports ball marks and checking. Torre's "9" appears on the knob in vintage black marker. LOA from PSA/DNA, GU 8. LOA from former Royals bat boy Greg Stiegler.

The hammer price for my Mantle card significantly exceeded my admittedly conservative estimations, and I couldn't be more pleased.
