    Description

1967-68 Roger Maris Game Used Bat. Late career gamer dates to the reigning single season Home Run King's years with the St. Louis Cardinals, to whom the star outfielder was traded in December 1966. The signature model Hillerich & Bradsby O16 exhibits light use, with several red bat streaks from the Cardinals' rack apparent on left and back barrel. Length of thirty-five inches and weight of thirty-two ounces match ordering records. Maris' number "9" is applied in vintage marker to the knob. A 7/10 black marker inscription, reading "To Hank, Best Always, Roger Maris," definitively places the bat in the hands of this hero of the 1961 home run race. Worth thousands simply as an autographed bat, the presented artifact should draw interest from several collecting disciplines when placed upon the auction block, so be prepared for a bidding war. Graded GU 7 by PSA/DNA. LOA from PSA/DNA. Full LOA from PSA/DNA (autograph). Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication (autograph).
