1965 Joe Torre All-Star Game Used Bat. Get it while he's controversial! The cuddliest man in professional baseball finally bared his teeth a bit in his recently published memoirs, The Yankee Years, drawing blood from A-Rod and even Steinbrenner, and all but assuring that he will not be the last man to wear number "6" on his pinstripes as was once assumed. Here we present tough and particularly desirable lumber from his playing days, used to launch the only All-Star Game home run of his nine Midsummer Classic appearances, a first inning bomb off AL ace Mudcat Grant. The signature model Hillerich & Bradsby U1 features "1965 All Star Game, Minnesota" stamping on the barrel, which exhibits strong use that almost certainly dates from both the famous exhibition game and some of the regular season to follow. Plentiful ball and stitch marks join bat rack streaking on the natural ash finish. Length is thirty-five inches; weight is thirty-two ounces. Graded GU 8. A borderline Hall of Famer as a player alone, Torre will undoubtedly find himself in Cooperstown one day, so this is a solid bet for the investors among us. LOA from PSA/DNA.
