    Description

1965-68 Willie Mays Game Used Bat PSA GU 6. One of just four players in Major League history with keys to both the 3,000 Hit and 500 Home Run clubhouses, Willie Mays also brought one of the game's best gloves to the outfield, putting him high on the short list of greatest ballplayers ever. Here we present a tool from the offensive half of that equation, exhibiting use characterized as "moderate" by authenticator John Taube. The block-lettered Hillerich & Bradsby S2 matches Mays' factory ordering records in its model number and specifications of thirty-four and three-quarter inches and thirty-four and a half ounces, favored during a tremendously productive time in his Hall of Fame career. Deeply imbedded ball and stitch marks coat the barrel, with some swelling of the grain from Mays' abuse of National League baseballs. A handle crack ended a long, productive life in the hands of a legend, beginning a second incarnation as a top-shelf collectible. Graded PSA GU 6. LOA from John Taube.
