    Description

1965-68 Mickey Mantle Game Used Bat. The Mick would club the first indoor home run in Major League history the season of this lumber's likely use, an exhibition game blast at the Harris County Domed Stadium, soon to be rechristened "The Astrodome." While the labeling period spans the final four seasons of Mantle's Hall of Fame career, the thirty-three ounce weight matches 1965 ordering records, an effective one for Mantle despite gradually worsening injuries. The signature model Hillerich & Bradsby M110 measures thirty-five inches in length and exhibits very heavy use, with significant checking, multiple ball marks and stitch impressions, and cracks at back barrel and handle. Light coating of pine tar at mid to upper handle is a key trait for Mantle bats of this era. Graded GU 7.5. A battle-scarred veteran from the Commerce Comet. LOA from PSA/DNA, GU 7.5.
