    Description

1962 Yogi Berra All-Star Game Used Bat, PSA/DNA GU 10. Historic lumber was retrieved and appropriated by Detroit Tigers batboy Robert Kaminski after the Hall of Fame New York Yankees catcher cracked it in a Tiger Stadium contest. Though the barrel of the bat clearly indicates "1962 All Star Game, Chicago" in block lettering framing Berra's facsimile signature, it was quite common for All-Stars to continue swinging their lumber in the regular season, and the heavy use evident is clearly resultant of multiple games' action. Many ball marks speckle the barrel, which exhibits light checking, cleat marks and both blue and red bat rack streaks attesting to appearances at several ballparks. The aforementioned handle crack has been professionally repaired. Length of thirty-five inches and weight of just under thirty-three ounces match the factory ordering records for this All-Star model, the final factor in PSA/DNA's determination of a perfect GU 10 rating. Black sharpie signature on the barrel is 9+/10. LOA from PSA/DNA, GU 10. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA (autograph). Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication (autograph).

The hammer price for my Mantle card significantly exceeded my admittedly conservative estimations, and I couldn't be more pleased.
