1961-63 Willie Mays Game Used Bat, PSA/DNA GU 8. Considered by many to be the greatest all-around player in Major League history, Willie Mays was at the height of his considerable powers when he stood at the plate with this Hillerich & Bradsby M63 at the ready, the labeling period of the bat coinciding with a three-season stretch that saw Mays average over forty-two homers annually.

Experts John Taube and Vince Malta characterize the use as "outstanding," suggesting very strongly that at least a couple of those four-baggers were launched from the bat's battered surface. Ball marks and stitch impressions coat the barrel, joining cleat marks and two colors of bat rack streaks. Tape residue appears on barrel and the slightly cracked handle. Bat measures thirty-five inches (35") in length, and weight in ounces (33 1/2) is written in pencil on knob. LOA from PSA/DNA, GU 8. Letter of provenance from Ron Cardo (former Milwaukee County Stadium batboy).
