1961-63 Stan Musial Game Used Bat. A late-career workhorse from one of the greatest hitters ever to step to into a Major League batter's box, this Hillerich & Bradsby M159 is positively dripping with use, clearly a key instrument in putting the finishing touches on Musial's eye-popping stat line. Leading expert John Taube characterizes the use as "outstanding," drawing attention to the punished grain of the barrel that required nails to tack the heavy checking back into place. Ball marks and stitch impressions are heavily clustered, and cleat marks and green bat rack streaks are clearly apparent. Scoring of the handle is a key Musial trait, and light pine tar remains in this area. Number "6" is written in vintage marker on the knob. Length is thirty-four and a half inches, weight thirty one ounces. LOA from PSA/DNA. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA (autograph).
