    Description

1961-63 Elston Howard Game Used Bat. American League MVP season, one in which he posted top ten numbers in both batting average and home runs, leading his club to a fourth straight pennant. Ball marks and stitch impressions coat the barrel, the back of which is missing a sizeable slab, ending its service to Howard. The handle has been scored to enhance the grip, and ancient pine tar is evident here as well. The signature model Hillerich & Bradsby K55 measures thirty-six inches in length and weighs thirty-two ounces, though has likely shed some weight due to its damage in action. Vintage marker on the knob spelling "EH" allowed Howard to locate his bat quickly in the rack. A bat not commonly seen in the hobby, and sporting the best use of any we've thus far encountered. LOA from Taube & Malta.
    Guide Value or Estimate: $800 - $1,200.
