1960 Willie Mays Game Used & Signed Bat, PSA/DNA GU 9. He was named "The Player of the Decade" by The Sporting News, and got off to a fine start the season he put this Hillerich & Bradsby S2 to work, remarkably the only year of his career that he led all Senior Circuit batters in hits (190). Clearly several of those knocks were recorded with the offered relic, as expert John Taube characterizes game use as "excellent," noting ball marks, stitch impressions, cleat marks and bat rack paint. Handle is uncracked, leading down to a knob bearing a vintage marker number "24." Length is thirty-five inches (35"), weight thirty-three ounces (33 oz.). Barrel is autographed in 10/10 black sharpie. Mays would claim his seventh of nineteen consecutive All-Star nods and earn a Gold Glove en route to a third-place finish in MVP voting. LOA from PSA/DNA, GU 9. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.
