    Description

1960 Ted Williams Game Used Bat, PSA/DNA GU 7.5. No quality bat collection could be considered complete without representation by the greatest hitter that ever lived, so we're pleased to help elevate one hobbyist's status with the presentation of this late career gamer. From the thirty-five inch length and thirty-two ounce weight of the signature model W166, expert John Taube was able to match the order to a Hillerich & Bradsby shipment dated May 6, 1960, just six weeks before Teddy Ballgame became the fourth member of the illustrious 500 Home Run Club. To be even more specific, the bat's weight appears as a handwritten "31 3/4" on the knob, indicative of Williams' well-established practice of closely monitoring and altering bat weight. The bat exhibits light but definite use, with a few ball marks, stitch impressions, and green and red bat rack streaks. Light pine tar appears at handle. Did Williams hit one of the last homers of his Hall of Fame career with this lumber? We'll leave it to the winning bidder to dream of the possibilities... LOA from PSA/DNA, GU 7.5.
