1959 Tony Kubek All-Star Game Issued Bat, PSA/DNA GU 7. The young Yankees shortstop was called in by Casey Stengel to pinch hit for ace knuckleballer Hoyt Wilhelm in the top of the seventh inning of this Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum contest, working a walk and ultimately coming around to score what would prove to be the winning run the American League's five to three victory over the Nationals. The presented Hillerich & Bradsby L5 is assessed as "game issued" rather than game used, but could well be the one that was toted to the plate for that fateful appearance if Kubek never actually laid lumber to leather as he worked the count. The thirty-four and a half inch weapon exhibits no ball marks and weighs thirty and a half ounces. LOA from PSA/DNA, GU 7.
