    Description

1959 Harmon Killebrew Game Used Bat. Exceptional game use and unimprovable provenance conspire to create one of the most desirable Killer bats known to the hobby. Not only does the Hall of Fame slugger provide his seal of approval with a 10/10 black sharpie signature on the barrel with "1959 Game Bat" notation, but he also provides a signed letter that reads, in part, "1959 was my breakout year, as I hit 42 home runs, the first of many 40+ home run years in my career. This bat is my game-used bat that was used by me during the 1959 baseball season while I was a member of the Washington Senators." Length is thirty-five inches, with a weight of thirty-two ounces, both proper for Killebrew's specifications. Ball, stitch and spike marks coat the barrel of this important gamer, and a slight crack is visible on the hand, though not visible when the bat is displayed with markings in front. Killebrew's letter makes note of the heavy pine tar on the handle, which he asserts was "one of my trademarks." In short, a picture-perfect Killebrew specimen, graded GU9. The bat originally derives from the personal collection of Tom MacDougal, Washington Senators bat boy from 1957 through 1959, who was given this bat personally by Killebrew. LOA from Taube & Malta. LOA from PSA/DNA (autograph). LOA from James Spence Authentication (autograph).
