    Description

1959 Gil Hodges World Series Game Used Bat, PSA/DNA GU 7. The most beloved Bum outside the hallowed halls of Cooperstown, Hodges represented the Dodgers in seven Fall Classics, and this is the most important relic we've encountered from his participation in his last, and the franchise's first in its new California home. Hodges' eighth inning solo shot in Game Four proved to be the game-winner, and perhaps it was this Hillerich & Bradsby H178 that carried the Dodgers to the precipice of its World Championship realization that would come just three days later. The experts at PSA/DNA report light game use in the form of ball marks, stitch impressions and blue rack streaks, and note light water staining at barrel end. Length is thirty-five inches (35"), weight thirty-one and a half ounces (31.5 oz.). The bat entered the hobby directly from the Hodges family, and retains its 2006 handwritten and signed letter from Hodges' daughter. LOA from PSA/DNA, GU 7. Letter of provenance from Barbara Hodges.

The hammer price for my Mantle card significantly exceeded my admittedly conservative estimations, and I couldn't be more pleased.
