1957 Hank Aaron Game Used Bat with World Series Attribution, PSA GU 9. While any lumber from the arsenal of Hammerin' Hank carries tremendous collecting appeal (and particularly representations dating to the 1950's), the presented example suggests ideal vintage in the form of a notarized letter of provenance from a gentleman who attended Braves and Packers games as a boy in Wisconsin. He details a friendship between his family and the proprietor of a Milwaukee steakhouse popular with the local athletes. This bat, he attests, was given to the restaurateur by Aaron just after the Braves' victorious 1957 World Series, and in turn given to the letter's author.

We find nothing in the bat's DNA to contradict this recollection, and expert John Taube reports that the Adirondack 63A matches Aaron's specs for the 1954 through 1957 era. The bat is uncracked and exhibits excellent use with several ball marks and stitch impressions on all sides of the barrel along with scattered cleat marks and bat rack stripes. A small chip appears on back barrel. Length and weight of thirty-five inches and ounces respectively likewise match known exemplars. Thrilling as an early-career Aaron, and a national treasure as a bat potentially used to claim what would prove to be Aaron's first and only World Series Championship. LOA from PSA/DNA, GU 9.
