Description

1954-57 Roy Campanella Game Used Bat, PSA/DNA GU 8.5. The sturdy foundation of the great 1950's Brooklyn Bums dynasty delivered still more heartbreak to the borough after the last ever game at Ebbets, paralyzed in a terrible automobile accident just months before the team's Los Angeles debut. Here we present some late career lumber from the Hall of Fame backstop, a Hillerich & Bradsby C188 exhibiting heavy use from those final seasons at Ebbets when all was right and good in the baseball world. The punished grain of the barrel bears witness to the power that made Campy one of the Bums' leading run producers, his 107 batted in for the 1955 season earning him the National League MVP and the sole Brooklyn World Championship. Ball marks and cleat marks speckle the barrel, and ancient pine tar darkens the uncracked handle. In short, we've never encountered a Campanella gamer with such a significant volume of use. Length thirty-five inches, weight thirty-three ounces. LOA from PSA/DNA, GU 8.5
