1953 New York Yankees World Series Championship Black Bat. It would mark the new record of five World Championship victories in a row for the 1953 Yankees. Mickey Mantle was firmly entrenched and no longer just a rookie. Yogi Berra would continue to lead in the clubhouse and with his bat. Berra and Mantle would each hit just under .300 with over twenty home runs and a combined 200 RBI. Manager Casey Stengel was establishing himself as one of the most successful skippers in baseball history. On the mound, Whitey Ford returned from military service to turn in an eighteen win season with a 3.00 ERA, while Ed Lopat had his best season at sixteen wins and a 2.42 ERA.This 35" Louisville Slugger commemorative black bat is in excellent condition with a handful of scuffs. The black has faded ever so slightly, and the gold lettering has lost its luster but the lettering remains solid and consistent. These were only presented to team personnel and never made available to the general public, making them true rarities for bat collectors and Yankees fans alike.
