Description

1951-55 Jackie Robinson Game Used Bat, PSA/DNA Authentic. A bit of detective work places this Adirondack Robinson model 111A firmly into the hands of the brave Jackie despite the presence of Brooks, Frank and four other Robinsons in Major League action during the lumber's production period. Expert John Taube was able to reach the records department of Rawlings, who absorbed the Adirondack bat company decades ago, gaining confirmation that the 111A was the Adirondack version of the Hillerich & Bradsby S100 model favored by the Brooklyn Dodgers legend from his 1949 National League MVP season through spring training of 1955. Those with dimensions match this specimen's thirty-five inch length and thirty-four ounce weight narrowed the range to 1951-55.

Heavy use is evident on the uncracked weapon, with slight grain checking having been repaired on rear barrel. Ball marks and stitch impressions are clearly visible, as are cleat marks and some silver paint on the handle and green bat rack streaks. Jackie Robinson bats rate among the most desirable of the post-war era, and this is a particularly rare and desirable format. LOA from PSA/DNA, Authentic.
