1950 Roy Campanella All-Star Game Used Bat, PSA/DNA GU 8. It was the seventeenth Midsummer Classic, and the first to require extra frames, with Red Schoendienst launching a solo shot in the top of the fourteenth inning to bring about a merciful end to the Comiskey Park exhibition and make the National League the winners of the four-to-three marathon. Though starting Senior Circuit backstop Campanella was on the brink of a five-season span punctuated by three National League MVP Awards, he'd fail to reach base in six plate appearances, likely due in part to the exhaustion of catching all fourteen innings without relief.

Thus we can likely attribute a degree of the light to moderate game use evident on this Hillerich & Bradsby G80 to second-half action with the Brooklyn Dodgers, a team that would fall just two games short of the Phillies in that season's pennant race. At thirty-five and a half inches (35.5") and thirty-two and a half ounces (32.5 oz.), the Hall of Fame relic perfectly matches factory ordering records, and exhibits ball marks, green rack streaks and light pine tar on the uncracked handle.

Some minor water staining and general handling wear are to be noted, but our catalog imagery should properly convey that the distractions are minor. Our last offering of a Campy All-Star bat, in May of this year, commanded $28,800. LOA from PSA/DNA, GU 8.
