Description

1950 New York Yankees World Championship Black Bat. Just beginning their incredible domination of the 1950's, this 1950 Yankees squad beat the Philadelphia Phillies in a four-game World Series. Joe DiMaggio (.301-32-122) and Yogi Berra (.322-28-124) provided the power at the plate, although Johnny Mize also produced an amazing .277-25-72 season over 90 games in a backup role. Pitching was a team effort, with Vic Raschi, Allie Reynolds, Ed Lopat and Tommy Byrne all turning in sound performances. A young Whitey Ford only saw action in twenty games but made it count by going nine and one with an ERA under 3.00. The offered 35" Louisville Slugger presentation bat was only available to team personnel as a memento of the season. It rates in EX-MT condition with a handful of minor marks, but no major areas of distraction.
