1946-49 Joe DiMaggio Period-Signed Game Issued Bat, PSA/DNA Authentic.
Those members of our collecting clientele who participated in our February 2017 Platinum Night auction will surely recall the magnificent Babe Ruth signed bat that commanded $72,000 at the end of a furious bidding war. The presented lumber from another face on the Mount Rushmore of Yankees history derives from the same early collection, that of Cy Jones, whose personal museum was documented in the August 6, 1942 edition of The Sporting News.

The signature model Hillerich & Bradsby never got a chance to ride the prettiest swing in the history of the sport, instead plucked unused from the bat rack and inscribed in 9/10 black fountain pen ink, "My very best to you, Cy, from Joe DiMaggio." It's the first playing-days-signed DiMaggio bat we've ever encountered, and if it's not the only one on Earth, it must be the finest. Length is thirty-five inches (35"), weight thirty-four ounces (33.9 oz.). LOA from PSA/DNA, Authentic. Full LOA from PSA/DNA (autograph). Auction LOA from SGC Authentic (autograph).
