1934 Jimmie Foxx Game Used Bat, PSA/DNA GU 7. During the first half of the 1930's, there was no hitter on Earth more feared than the man from whose arsenal the presented bat derives, not Babe Ruth, not Lou Gehrig. In the earliest years of the Great Depression, Foxx paced all American Leaguers in home runs three times, twice in runs batted in, earning two MVP nods in the process. The 1934 season from which this lumber derives saw the Beast drive in 130 runs with the help of forty-four (44) home runs before crossing the Atlantic with the game's greatest stars to spread the gospel of baseball throughout the nation of Japan.

The bat exhibits outstanding use from that most eventful year, the barrel simply coated with ball marks, punished to the point of grain separation (and the loss of a very thin sliver of wood as a result). Ancient nails repair a crack in the handle, and the knob has lost a small chip. In every regard, this lumber tells the tale of the staggering power that made Foxx the second resident of the 500 Home Run Clubhouse.

Length of thirty-six inches (36") and weight of thirty-five ounces (35 oz.) perfectly match Hillerich & Bradsby factory ordering records for the F3 model named for Foxx and first requested on August 24, 1933. While any Foxx bat could be properly characterized as rare, almost never do those models dating to the heart of his prime become available, a fact that will not be lost on our most discerning game used bat collectors.
