    Description

1929 John McGraw & The New York Giants Presentational Bat. Rare relic from a banquet in honor of the gruff and graying emperor of the Polo Grounds, this "Spalding" presentational model bat bears the engraved barrel text, "Loyal Giants Rooters Dinner to John J. McGraw and the 1929 Giants, New York, April 14th, 1929." The fifty-six year old veteran skipper would lead his 1929 Giants to eighty-four wins during the season beginning just four days ahead, good enough for a third place finish in the National League he had conquered ten times since taking the managerial reins in 1902. The bat measures just over thirty-five inches in length and exhibits glorious vintage patina that provides the look of antique furniture to this important Big Apple artifact.
