    Description

1926-34 Pie Traynor Game Used Bat, Graded "7" by PSA/DNA & MEARS. He's right up there with Honus Wagner and Roberto Clemente as a favorite son of Steeltown, having dedicated each of his seventeen Hall of Fame seasons to the Pirates franchise. Presented is one of the very few surviving examples of his game used lumber, an uncracked signature model Spalding hand turned beauty exhibiting "tremendous" and "heavy" game use, as reported by the experts at MEARS and PSA/DNA respectively. The barrel is coated with ball marks and exhibits some resultant light checking. Cleat marks, bat rack streaks and evidence of a removed handle tape job are likewise evident. Length is thirty-four inches, with a weight of just over thirty-six ounces. It should be stressed that these hand turned Spalding bats were only produced for professional use, assuring Traynor's ownership. An exceptionally rare bat for the advanced collector. LOA from PSA/DNA, GU 7. LOA from MEARS, A7.
