1925-32 Rogers Hornsby Professional Model Game Used Bat. Exciting relic is attributed to one of the greatest hitters of his age, a man whose .359 lifetime batting average trails only Ty Cobb on the career chart. The experts at MEARS pinpoint the advent of Hanna bats' use in Major League competition to 1925, and close the span of this specimen's possible range at 1932, when patent numbers started to appear on Hanna knobs. Though Hornsby is best recalled as a Hillerich & Bradsby client, it is quite noteworthy that this bat, with its distinctive knob, perfectly matches Louisville Slugger ordering records. Length and weight of thirty-four inches and thirty-two ounces are considered within acceptable range. MEARS assigns a perfect five point base grade for fidelity to factory records and the full three points for heavy use, with a single point lost for a chipped knob and upper handle crack, calculating to a final A7 rating. A fine memento of the career National League batting champion. LOA from MEARS, A7.
