1925-30 Rogers Hornsby Game Used Bat. One of the earliest and most successful bat companies challenging the Hillerich & Bradsby monopoly in Major League Baseball was the "Hanna Mfg. Co.," whose lumber for such period stars as Lou Gehrig, Ki Ki Cuyler and the Hall of Fame Waner Brothers is well documented. This attractive specimen was once owned and operated by St. Louis Cardinals superstar Rogers Hornsby, whose surname is stamped upon the barrel. The marvelous "Batrite" bat logo trademark appears below. The bat exhibits excellent use, with several ball and stitch marks evident on the left and back barrel, as well as a few cleat marks. A handle crack and some barrel grain checking have been expertly repaired. The length and weight of thirty-five inches and ounces respectively are correct for Hornsby. Graded GU7. LOA from Taube & Malta. Guide Value or Estimate: $1,500 - $2,500.
