1909-25 Sam Crawford Professional Model Bat, Game Used, PSA/DNA GU 6. Spalding Autograph model bat shares the same thirty-five inch length and forty ounce weight dimensions of the example Heritage sold in August 2010 for over $53,000. That bat was bolstered by flawless provenance in the form of a 1913 inscription and signature from Crawford to noted early game used bat collector Eddie Maier on the barrel, assuring that it was indeed a gamer from the Hall of Fame Tiger. It must be noted that these bats were available in retail format as well, so attribution to Crawford himself in the absence of any such provenance for this example is impossible. Heavy use is apparent, with ball marks and various other abrasions on the barrel and about two inches of what was once seven inches of grip tape still remaining on the handle. Spalding logo stamp at knob and barrel end. LOA from PSA/DNA, GU 6.
