1905-11 Honus Wagner Professional Model Decal Bat. Tough and desirable rarity celebrates the first endorser of Hillerich & Bradsby bats, the legendary Pittsburgh Pirates shortstop Honus Wagner, whose image appears with bold color upon the bat's glossy barrel. The decal remains about seventy-five to eighty percent complete, far better than the norm for similar models of this era. With a weight of thirty-six ounces and a length of thirty-three inches, the bat falls within the acceptable range of those used in Major League action, and authenticator Dave Bushing notes that evidence exists that decal bats were occasionally used professionally. Bushing notes moderate use upon the barrel, with ball and stitch marks evident. There is not, however, any sign of the cracks or nail repair one often sees on Dead Ball era lumber. A very attractive and appealing specimen, graded A5. LOA from Dave Bushing.
