Description

Ted Lyons Single Signed Baseball. One of the tougher Hall of Fame single-signed baseballs, this Ted Lyons exemplar is presented on the sweet spot in 8/10 blue felt-tip ink, with a light application of shellacking. This ONL (Feeney) ball exhibits light wear and toning, but is without question one of the nicer Lyons singles we have ever offered. Auction LOA from JSA

This lot derives from the collection of the late Reverend G. Richard McKelvey, a true pioneer of the baseball autograph collecting hobby. For nearly eight decades, Reverend McKelvey actively compiled his collection of in-person autographs, and is widely recognized as the innovator of "theme balls," paving the way for the wildly popular 500 Home Run Club and 300 Win Club baseballs of today. Many other noteworthy pieces from his collection are currently up for bidding in our Sunday Internet Sports Auctions.
