Shawn Green Single Signed Baseball. Shawn Green was a talented left-handed outfielder known for his smooth swing, power, and athleticism, who played 15 seasons in Major League Baseball from 1993 to 2007. He spent the bulk of his career with the Toronto Blue Jays and Los Angeles Dodgers, and later played for the Arizona Diamondbacks and New York Mets.Green was a two-time All-Star and Gold Glove winner, and he combined power and speed early in his career, including a 30-30 season in 1998. He is perhaps best remembered for his historic performance on May 23, 2002, when he hit four home runs in a single game and totaled 19 total bases, setting an MLB record.
Off the field, Green was one of the most prominent Jewish athletes of his era and made headlines for choosing not to play on Yom Kippur, honoring his faith. He finished his career with 328 home runs and over 2,000 hits, and is remembered as a skilled, principled, and respected player.
