Description

Early 1960's Joe Gordon Signed Baseball. Four times a World Champion with the New York Yankees, and once with the Cleveland Indians, Gordon failed to garner the recognition he deserved as a player only due to his proximity to legends like DiMaggio, Feller and Lemon, who drew most of the fans' and sportswriters' attention. With an average of over 100 runs batted in per season when factored to a 162-game schedule, Gordon would have been the top dog on many a ballclub, and his Hall of Fame induction more than three decades after his passing in 1978 was long overdue. It has also greatly complicated the search for his singles, now a requirement for every collector with a Cooperstown concentration. Here we present a blazing white non-official ball signed by Gordon in 9/10 ink on the side panel. Other signatures once joining his have been removed to provide the appearance of a rare solo sphere. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
