Description

Early 1940's Babe Ruth Signed Baseball. A sweet spot signature from the Great Bambino was apparently acquired by Major League veteran Lou Fonseca (played 1921-33), as the ball began life as a Ruth single before Fonseca added a personalization and signature of his own. We suspect this ball dates to Ruth and Fonseca's work together to produce a twenty-three minute baseball film promoting the war effort in 1943.

The ball's stamping is faded beyond visibility, but the sweet spot signature rates a solid 7/10, as does Fonseca's just below. Some orange staining on the ball is a mystery, but our catalog imagery should convey that the autographs shine through well. Full LOA from PSA/DNA.
