Description

Circa 1970 Luke Easter Single Signed Baseball. Luke Easter was a powerful left-handed slugger who made his mark in both the Negro Leagues and Major League Baseball. Born in 1915, Easter began his professional career with the Homestead Grays before debuting with the Cleveland Indians in 1949. Despite joining MLB in his thirties, he quickly became known for his tremendous power, hitting eighty-six home runs over six seasons. He enjoyed his best year in 1952, driving in 100 runs. After his MLB career, he remained a feared hitter in the minors well into his forties. Easter's murder as the result of an armed robbery in 1979 broke hearts and halted the creation of autographs like that which appears upon this non-official ball, the first Easter single we have ever offered. Black ink signature rates 7/10. Full LOA from James Spence Authentication. Full LOA from PSA/DNA.
